PROJECTS
PROJECT #1, EDUCATION & HEALTHCARE, 2023
We at the Sunrise Center of Madagascar recently embarked on a significant initiative to support the Ihosy community. Our team supplied essential school materials to 250 students, aiming to enhance their educational journey. This effort not only equips these young minds with necessary resources but also inspires them to pursue their studies with renewed vigor. Simultaneously, we extended our support to the local healthcare system by donating crucial medical supplies and medicines to a nearby hospital. In a region where such resources are often scarce, our contribution is vital for improving community health. These actions mark the beginning of our ongoing commitment to Ihosy. By addressing both education and healthcare needs, we're laying a foundation for sustainable development and improving the quality of life in Madagascar.
PROJECT #2 EDUCATION & CHILDREN'S RIGHTS, 2024
The Sunrise Center of Madagascar, in partnership with the national police, has launched a significant Children's Rights Campaign to combat violence against children. This initiative is championed by the organization's leader and supported by educational pillars, Lycée Privé Saint Pierre Chanel Ihosy and Lpnya (Money Pillar Dina), along with full participation from the Ihosy teams. This campaign, rooted in the efforts of the Sunrise Center for Human Rights, demonstrates the power of collaboration in tackling critical societal issues. We extend our profound thanks to the national police and all contributors for their commitment to creating a safer environment for children, highlighting our collective dedication to advancing human rights and ensuring the well-being of every child.
PROJECT #3
WOMEN'S RIGHTS, 2024
PROJECT #4
HEALTH CARE, 2024
The Sunrise Center of Madagascar (SCM) proudly embraced its third visionary mission: championing women's rights, with a pioneering involvement in specialized training and enhancing partnerships during the week of February 19. From February 21 to 23, SCM engaged in a pivotal training focused on climate change, land rights, and women’s empowerment, orchestrated by the SIF or the common land sector. This event, highly regarded by journalists from the southern region, shed light on critical land status and jurisdiction issues in Madagascar. This endeavor represented a significant opportunity for SCM to contribute to and enrich the knowledge base of its members, while fostering open partnerships with professionals aimed at grassroots enhancement. Our objective was clear: to empower local residents with crucial knowledge about their land rights, driving success and informed advocacy within the community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and facilitators of this training, whose shared insights have furthered our mission and inspired meaningful change.

The Sunrise Center of Madagascar is spearheading an initiative to significantly reduce malaria incidence in Ihosy. Recognizing Ihorombe's high malaria prevalence, exacerbated by non-traditional medical practices, we are committing to a six-month intensive effort to complement the work of governmental and civil society partners in the region. Our comprehensive strategy includes the distribution of mosquito-repellent tents in collaboration with NGOs, educational drug presentations, and targeted application of medicinal treatments in selected households. This initiative will be coordinated in real-time with all stakeholders involved. The Sunrise Center of Madagascar is dedicated to creating a brighter, healthier future for the Ihosy community by combating one of its most pressing health challenges.
